About a year and a half ago I stumbled across the sport of Crossfit in my hometown when I was home on break from college. If you’ve been reading for sometime you know I’ve been in love since then. I’ve grown into a stronger, happier, healthier, more driven person because of it.
Fast forward to the end of 2012. My good friend Nick, also one of my coaches, was working diligently on finding a location to open his own box. A few failed attempts, and then some acts of fate led him to a perfect location in his hometown of Hampton, NH. Everything came together from there in a matter of a month and he’s on his way to having the doors open by this May if everything stays on track.
He’s the one who has been encouraging me and pushing me to be constantly better since I first met him. We train together almost everyday now, and without him I would not have made nearly the progress I have over the last year. He was also the one who persuaded me to get my Level 1 Certification, and as everything came into alignment it all worked out perfectly for me to be his main coach at the box when it opens.
We have an incredible group of friends and his family helping make it all happen. We’ve been spending weekend days and weeknights painting, laying down flooring, getting in mini workouts, and planning everything else that needs to happen before we open. It’s all surreal.
The part that excites me most is that I’m going to be working with and coaching some of my best friends. Coaching! Making people happier, healthier, and stronger just as Crossfit has done for me.
Then name is still being approved but I will share all of that when it’s final. For now you can follow on instagram @cf_bp to see progress pictures from a bare bones warehouse to a new box!
What’s the last brave thing you’ve done?
